The Start of a New Era in Online Small Business in 2010
By Daryl Des Marais

There are several examples of new technologies that are emerging on the scene in social networking and software development and it seems to be a growing trend. For example twitter has recently redesigned there website with current themes on the home page. So what? Well it is a quick and easy way for people to react or find a theme to discuss. It also monitors popular trends.

Another innovation is listorious.com. Imagine getting your company online, this website available through twitter allows companies to put their logos online a create a list of people that is interested in their topic. There is already numerous Fortune 500 companies on here and groups of people interested in food, celebrities, politics, news, sports, arts and many other topics. So what? Well if you could discuss your idea, innovation, product, service with a group of like-minded people across various industries, cultures, countries wouldn't that be beneficial? Of course you would have to understand the comments are coming from people with a variety of different viewpoints. However, you could design a profile or group of questions that direct you to determining specific questions or viewpoints you would like answered.

If you were a small start up company it may be helpful to get feedback from like-minded interests groups, of course you would have to take the feedback or "test" with a grain of salt. However, if you got enough valuable feedback to adapt and make changes in your design it may prove valuable. Younger people are experienced with being adaptable these days, might as well make use of it. Eventually it could get to the point where a larger start-up or online company may notice your group and take interest. Hmm, there's an idea?

So what is the point of all these online groups? Some say its just a bunch of chatter. My answer to this is chatter has been around since hieroglyphics in the early ages, look what that ended up building, societies, cultures, cities and towns. So maybe all this chatter online isn't a waste, maybe it is a wave of the future? For certain that will be up to the people who design the innovations and the people that find it useful or valuable in their everyday lives.
